Indochino in 2026

Is Indochino worth it in 2026?

My experience with Indochino since 2010, alongside the prices and fit policies checked on August 20, 2026. Who it suits, what can go wrong, and what I would check before ordering.

Leave time for alterations.

I would consider Indochino if you value customization, can use a showroom and have time to correct the fit. I would look elsewhere if you need easy returns, a guaranteed first fit or a suit in a hurry.

Indochino gives you more control than ordinary ready-to-wear, while still using a made-to-measure production system. A tailor is not drawing a new paper pattern just for you. In my 2017 Midnight Blue suit review, I described accurately sewn buttonholes, no loose buttons or stray threads, and cloth that draped well. Those observations concern that particular suit. A first fitting can still end with alterations.

Most people will probably spend twenty minutes choosing a lining and five minutes reading the return policy. I would reverse that. The lining is fun; the 14-day fit window is what can actually cost you money. The terms checked on August 20, 2026 made made-to-measure orders final sale and offered one complimentary alteration round, without a blanket refund or unconditional remake guarantee. Check the terms again before ordering.

Long-term context

What 16 years of following Indochino changes

I began writing about Indochino in 2010, when ordering measurements online felt experimental and the low price was the central story. By the August 2026 check, the company had become a large showroom-led retailer. That makes the process more approachable, but old reviews about a sub-$400 online gamble no longer describe the same purchase.

The durable lesson from those years is simple: measurement quality matters more than the number of customization options. A well-measured, sensibly styled suit can be useful for years. A poor first fit makes even an attractive fabric feel expensive.

Customization

Strong

Useful control over lapels, pockets, lining and proportions.

First-fit certainty

Variable

An experienced second person can assess posture and fit preferences; the first fit may still need work.

Return flexibility

Weak

Made-to-measure garments were final sale under the terms checked August 20, 2026.

Value

Sale-dependent

Prices checked August 20, 2026

The old “$300 custom suit” frame is obsolete

The product pages checked on August 20, 2026 showed a $499 Studio suit, $799 Premium examples and a $999 Luxury example. Some $599 pages still appeared in search results, but the examples checked were sold out. That is why this review does not call $599 the universal starting price.

Compare the exact fabric tier, the offer available on the day and the likely alteration effort. Studio products and other categories can be excluded from general codes, so check eligibility for the suit you want.

Fit process

Why I recommend a showroom for a first order

At the August 20, 2026 check, Indochino said it operated 95 locations and offered virtual consultations. I recommend a showroom when practical because an experienced second person can assess posture and fit preferences alongside the measurements. Self-measurement can work, but neither route guarantees a perfect first fit.

The support documentation checked that day described a fit-assistance process: report concerns quickly, keep the swing tags attached, and expect alterations to be part of the resolution.

The fitting checklist

  • Wear the shirt and shoes you expect to pair with the suit.
  • Explain whether you prefer a close or relaxed fit before measuring.
  • Photograph the finished try-on from front, side and back.
  • Raise fit or construction issues within 14 days of receiving the garment.

Construction

Made-to-measure does not automatically mean high-end construction

Customization and internal construction are different. The product pages checked in August did not consistently give enough canvas detail to justify broad claims across every garment. Ask what construction is used for the exact fabric and tier you are considering, especially when the price approaches strong ready-to-wear or specialist alternatives.

The archive shows my observations of particular garments. Fabric, factory processes and specifications can change. Use those older reviews for their ownership detail, and check the construction of the suit being sold now.

Alterations & fit help

Know the resolution path before you order

The terms checked on August 20, 2026 allowed one complimentary alteration round. Eligible online orders could also use a local tailor with reimbursement caps: USD/CAD $75 for a two-piece suit and $100 for a three-piece suit. Separate limits applied to jackets, pants and shirts, and Nordstrom purchases were excluded. Confirm eligibility and the applicable limits before paying a tailor.

If a garment cannot be altered, Customer Experience asks for photos and assesses the next resolution. That is assistance, but it is not an unconditional refund promise.

Practical advice: leave time between delivery and the event. A wedding suit with no alteration buffer turns a manageable process issue into an emergency.

Buying decision

Who should buy—and who should skip it

Consider Indochino if

You need customization

You can use a showroom, value style control, and have time for an alteration round.

Look elsewhere if

You need flexibility

You want easy returns, a last-minute suit, or documented high-end internal construction.

Read the policy, check the exact tier and leave time for alterations before deciding whether the promotion makes it worthwhile. An attractive price cannot fix a purchase that leaves you no time to correct the fit.

Common questions

The short answers before you order

Is Indochino worth it?

It can be. I would consider Indochino if you want meaningful style control, can use a showroom and have time for alterations. I would look elsewhere for an urgent purchase or if easy returns matter more than customization.

Are Indochino suits good quality?

There is no honest one-word answer across every fabric and tier. Fit, cloth and the work needed after delivery all affect the result. My older suits show that the system can produce useful long-term garments, but current product pages do not document enough internal construction detail for me to give every 2026 suit the same quality rating.

What happens if an Indochino suit does not fit?

Indochino’s current terms provide one complimentary alteration round. Fit or construction concerns need to be raised within 14 days of receipt, with the swing tags still attached. That is why I would leave a real alteration buffer before a wedding or fixed event.

Is Indochino bespoke?

No. Indochino is made-to-measure at scale: an existing pattern is adjusted from your measurements and preferences. That offers more control than ordinary ready-to-wear, but it is not the same process as a bespoke tailor drafting an individual pattern.
