Indochino Return Policy: Refunds, Fit Claims and Remakes
Understand Indochino’s published return policy, the 14-day fit window, local alteration allowances and what happens when a garment cannot be altered.

Can you return an Indochino suit for a refund?
Indochino’s published policy does not offer returns or refunds on its made-to-measure garments. If the fit is wrong, the route is assistance with alterations and, where needed, an assessment of a garment that cannot be altered. That is a different buying proposition from ordering a ready-to-wear suit and sending it back because you changed your mind.
The official return policy also tells customers to contact Customer Experience within 14 days of receipt about quality or fabrication issues. Read the fit-help instructions before ordering, rather than assuming a return label will solve a disappointing first try-on.
This guide explains the company’s published process. It does not determine your legal rights in a particular country or dispute.
The 14-day deadline has two different routes
For fit or construction concerns, the fit-help policy says to visit a showroom within 14 days of receiving your garments, with the swing tags attached. Book a Final Look appointment so the visit falls inside that window. Booking on day 14 for a much later visit is not what the published wording says.
If you cannot find an appointment in time, contact the branch directly or Customer Experience promptly. The policy provides that contact route, but does not spell out an automatic extension. Keep the response and any agreed date in writing.
If you are not near a showroom, contact Customer Experience within 14 days to open a claim. The team then gives you a deadline for submitting a local tailor’s receipt. The initial contact window and the later receipt deadline are separate steps.
- Try the garments on promptly and leave the tags attached.
- Keep the delivery date, order number, photographs and correspondence together.
- Do not let a calendar reminder replace the actual showroom visit or claim contact.
How local alteration reimbursement works
Indochino’s reimbursement instructions cover online purchases when you do not have access to a showroom. Showroom buyers are directed back to an in-house Final Look appointment. Reimbursement is subject to a claim and the published allowances; it is not an unlimited tailoring budget.
For a two-piece suit, the maximum is USD75 or CAD75, and AUD100 in Australia. A three-piece suit has a USD100/CAD100/AUD120 allowance. The official allowance table gives the limits for individual garments too.
Get a quote before authorising the work. If the tailor cannot complete it within the allowance, Indochino says not to proceed and to contact Customer Experience about an alternative. Paying a higher bill first does not establish that the excess will be covered.
Submit the itemised receipt and tailor’s form by the deadline the team gives you. The fit-help instructions require the business name, address and date, and say fully handwritten receipts are not accepted. Reimbursement goes back through the original payment method; a gift-card purchase is reimbursed with an Indochino gift card.
These alteration claims are limited to direct Indochino purchases in Canada, the United States and Australia. International delivery alone does not establish eligibility.
What if the garment cannot be altered?
The non-alterable garment instructions ask for front, side and back photographs, plus a description of the fit concerns, within the 14-day claim period. Customer Experience assesses the case and determines a resolution.
That page does not promise a remake for every problem. Ask the team what it proposes, whether the original fabric is available and what the next step means for your event date. A forum account of a successful remake is evidence about that order, not an entitlement attached to yours.
Take the pictures in normal posture, in good light. For jacket photos, the company asks for the top button fastened; for trouser photos, keep the waistband visible. A description such as “the waistband digs in when I sit” is more useful than saying the suit feels wrong.
Price adjustments are not garment refunds
The price-adjustment policy allows requests within one day of purchase when the item’s price falls, with adjustments issued as store credit. Black Friday and Cyber Monday promotions are excluded. This is separate from a fit claim.
If a promotion matters to the purchase, read its exclusions before checkout. The current offers page keeps deal evidence separate from product prices. Neither a sale nor a coupon makes a custom garment refundable under the published return policy.
The questions to settle before ordering
First, establish where you can have the finished garment assessed. A nearby showroom is useful only if you can return within the claim period. If the local-tailor route is your plan, confirm eligibility and understand the allowance before buying.
Next, check delivery to your country. The shipping page lists excluded destinations, including Austria, where I live. It also says taxes and duties outside the US, Canada and Australia are not covered. Those practical limits belong in the buying decision.
For an event, ask for the current delivery estimate and leave room for assessment and corrections. A remake can be discussed without being available in time for your wedding. Ask who would pay for any remake or inspection shipment; the pages checked for this guide do not settle every shipping scenario.
Common questions
Can I return it because I dislike the colour?
The published made-to-measure policy does not provide a change-of-mind return. If there is a fabrication or quality concern, report that specific issue within the stated window.
Can I wait until after the event to sort out the fit?
Do not assume so. The showroom fit-help page ties its 14-day period to receiving the garments, not to when you first wear them.
Does a gift-card reimbursement mean the purchase was refundable?
No. The gift-card wording in the reimbursement instructions describes how an approved alteration claim is paid. It does not create a general refund route for the garment.
What if there are no Final Look appointments?
Use the branch or Customer Experience contact route promptly, and keep their response. Do not silently wait past the window.
Would the policy change my buying decision?
It should, if you need the freedom to return a suit after an ordinary try-on. Some buyers are comfortable working through a fitting and correction process. Others need a less committed purchase. Decide which situation you are in before choosing the fabric.
My current Indochino review puts the policy alongside the clothing and my longer ownership history. Use the showroom guides to plan the practical side of a fitting.
