Ten standalone showrooms are planned

Indochino says it intends to open ten U.S. showrooms in 2027, its largest investment in standalone retail in years. Six locations are planned for early 2027. The remaining four are expected later in the year, but their markets have not yet been announced.

The release describes a new “small format” standalone model, but it does not disclose square footage, addresses, lease status for each named site, or appointment launch dates. A planned market is not yet a usable buying option.

The format

“Smaller” is plausible—but still undefined

The new announcement does not provide dimensions. For context, five standalone showrooms announced in 2024 were reported at roughly 1,437 to 2,582 square feet. By contrast, five Nordstrom shop-in-shops added in 2025 were reported at only 250 to 450 square feet.

Those are different concepts. The 2027 stores are described as standalone showrooms, so it would be misleading to assume they will be as small as a Nordstrom shop-in-shop. What the history does show is why Indochino can shrink a store: the showroom is primarily a measurement, fabric-selection and ordering space rather than a traditional shop carrying every size in inventory.

For a buyer, the test is not the floor area. It is whether the smaller format still provides enough fitting time, fabric access and post-delivery help. Indochino has not yet explained whether staffing, appointment length or alteration support will differ.

• Less travel for a first fitting: a closer showroom may make professional measurement more practical in the six named markets.
• No guarantee of a first-try fit: a new showroom does not remove the need to leave time for delivery and possible alterations.
• No immediate availability: the announcement does not create appointments in 2026.
• No pricing change was announced: the expansion says nothing about suit prices, promotion eligibility or service fees.

Indochino also says the announcement follows six consecutive quarters of positive EBITDA and a record second quarter in 2026. The company is privately held, and the release does not provide underlying figures. We treat that as a company claim supporting its expansion rationale, not as independently verified financial reporting.
